Pound 4 Pound
A professional boxing gym in Spring, Texas, and the people who fill it.
The gym
A real boxing gym that welcomes people who cannot box.
Pound 4 Pound Boxing is a professional boxing gym. There is a ring, a row of heavy bags, flags on the wall and a floor that has taken a beating. Fighters train here.
It is also, on any given evening, full of people who could not throw a straight right three months ago. Those two things are not in tension — they are the whole point. The training that makes a fighter is the training that transforms everybody else, and we have never seen a reason to water it down.
What we will do is meet you where you are. Every class is scaled. Sparring is optional and it stays optional. Nobody is going to make you do anything you did not come here to do.

The coaching
Led by Antonio Flores.
Antonio Flores owns and runs Pound 4 Pound. Former IXFA Welterweight Champion, professional boxer and mixed martial artist, second degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, USA Boxing coach, certified and advanced personal trainer, weight room specialist.
That list matters less than what it means on the floor: the person correcting your stance has been in the ring, has cornered fighters at real bouts, and knows the difference between a workout that makes you tired and a workout that makes you better.
His stated goal has not changed in all the years the gym has been open — to let ordinary people experience what boxing does to a body and a head.
We stick to the basics, and we do the basics well. Just like boxing.
Pound 4 Pound BoxingWhat you can expect
How we run the room.
- Everybody is a beginner at something Nobody gets laughed at here. The people who have been at it two years remember exactly what week one felt like.
- Sparring is your decision You can train here for years and never take a punch. Plenty do. When you want it, it is there, supervised and matched properly.
- The programme is written, not improvised Every class has a plan behind it. That is what makes progress predictable instead of accidental.
- We corner our fighters The competitive side of the gym is real. When our amateurs fight, coaches are in the corner with them.
- The facility is yours after class Stay and work the bags. All-inclusive members have the run of the floor.
- Freeze your membership when life happens Up to three months a year, no charge. We would rather you come back than cancel.

Pound 4 Pound Boxing
Adult Boxing
Real boxing, amazing fitness. The programme that takes the weight off and keeps it off.

Who this is for
Frustrated, overwhelmed, and done with guessing.
You have read enough. Everything on the internet contradicts everything else on the internet, and the last three things you tried worked for about five weeks. That is not a discipline problem. That is a programme problem.
So here is the alternative. We teach you one of the hardest sports there is, and the fitness arrives as a side effect. You do not have to think about macros or invent a workout or motivate yourself at seven in the evening. You show up, you follow the programme, you put in the work, and the coach handles the rest.
What an hour looks like
The bread and butter of a fighter’s routine.
Rope and movement
Skipping, footwork, shadow work. By the end of it you are loose, warm and already breathing harder than you expected.
Bags, mitts and technique
Rounds on the heavy bags and time on the pads with a coach. Combinations, defence, angles. This is where the skill is built.
Conditioning
Circuits, core, strength. Aerobic and anaerobic, muscular endurance, agility. The part that turns training into a physique.
The results
What changes, and roughly when.
Nobody can promise you a number on a scale by a date. What we can tell you is what we watch happen, in this order, in almost everybody who trains consistently.
- Weeks one to three — you stop being wrecked by the warm up.
- Weeks four to eight — the combinations start landing without thinking. Clothes fit differently.
- Weeks eight to twelve — conditioning is a different animal. The weight change is visible to other people, not just to you.
- Beyond three months — you are training, not exercising. That is the difference that lasts.

Two for one
You get fit. You also learn to fight.
Most fitness programmes give you one thing. This one gives you conditioning and a skill at the same time, and the skill happens to be self-defence. Whether you ever use it is entirely up to you.
Included
Everything that comes with it.
- A professional coach every session Leading the class, correcting your form, and keeping the room moving. No guesswork left for you to do.
- A different workout daily The programme rotates so your body cannot adapt and your interest cannot fade.
- All fitness levels, same room Every drill scales. We take people to the next step safely, at the pace their body actually allows.
- Facility access after class Stay and work the bags. All-inclusive members can come in and train on their own time.
- Cold filtered water on site You will need it. Bring a bottle and a towel.
- Sparring when and if you want it Optional, supervised, and matched properly. Never a requirement.

Questions
Everything people ask before their first class, and most of what they ask after it.
Before class
What should I wear?
Athletic shoes and clothes you can move in. Boxing is on your feet the entire hour, so proper trainers matter more than anything else you put on.
How early should I arrive?
Fifteen minutes. That gives you time to warm up and get your hands wrapped before the first round rather than during it.
Do I need my own gloves?
Every class requires gloves and hand wraps. We recommend owning your own, and the gym is stocked with options to buy. Come to your free class regardless and we will sort you out on the night.
Do I have to know how to box?
No. Most people who join have never thrown a punch. The training is built around teaching you, and the fitness comes along with it.
Do you have a waiver policy?
Yes. Every boxer signs a waiver before their first class. There are three forms altogether — the liability waiver, the fitness questionnaire and the USA Boxing hold harmless waiver — and all three are on this site.
How do I book a personal training session?
Contact Antonio directly to arrange an appointment and tell him what kind of training you are after. Sessions and packages can also be purchased online.
After class
Is there water at the gym?
There is a cold filtered water station on site. Bring a bottle to fill.
Do you have showers?
Not currently.
Can I use the gym after class?
Yes. Members are welcome to stay and use the equipment once the class has finished.
Can I come in and train on my own?
All-inclusive members get unlimited access to the facility outside class times.
Membership
Do you have monthly memberships?
Both monthly and longer options. We try to stay as flexible as we can — tell us what suits and we will work with it.
What is your freeze policy?
Members can freeze their membership for up to three months a year at no cost. Life happens and we would rather you came back.
What does the free class include?
A full hour of a real class with a coach, gloves and wraps for the session, and no obligation afterwards. Bring your completed forms and turn up fifteen minutes early.
Boxing
Which classes involve boxing?
All of them. Every class at Pound 4 Pound includes boxing instruction — that is the whole idea.
Are the classes suitable for beginners?
Every class can be modified for different fitness levels, and every class regularly has complete beginners in it.
Do I have to spar?
No. Sparring is entirely optional and stays optional for as long as you train here. When you want it, it is supervised and matched properly.
Can I compete?
Yes. Pound 4 Pound is a USA Boxing gym and our amateurs fight with coaches in the corner. Speak to Antonio when you are ready to talk about it.
Other
Do you hold private events?
Yes. Email antonio@pound4poundboxing.com with the group size and what you have in mind.
Can I host a fundraiser at the gym?
We offer the space for charity fundraisers when it is available. Ask and we will check the calendar.
Do you offer online coaching?
Yes, for people who cannot get to the gym as often as they would like. Contact Antonio for details.

Kids Boxing
How to bully proof your child in twelve short weeks. Ages five and up.
For parents
Confidence is a skill. It can be taught.
A child who knows how to handle themselves carries themselves differently, and other children notice it long before anything is ever tested. That is the quiet part of what boxing does for a kid, and it is the part parents come back and tell us about.
Your child needs absolutely no experience to start. Most have never worn a glove. Within a few weeks you will see a noticeable difference in how they carry themselves — in the gym first, then at school.
Twelve weeks
What the programme builds.
- Confidence Not swagger. The settled kind that comes from having actually done a hard thing in front of other people.
- Discipline Turn up, line up, listen, work. Boxing has no shortcuts and children work that out fast.
- Concentration You cannot learn a four punch combination while your mind is elsewhere. The focus transfers to schoolwork more often than not.
- Real self-defence Proper technique taught properly. We are equally clear with them about when it is and is not used.
- Fitness they do not notice Rope, footwork, bag work and games. It is an hour of hard cardio that feels like a sport, because it is one.
- A place to belong The kids class is a team. That matters at that age more than almost anything else we do.

Going further
And if they want to compete?
Some of them do. Pound 4 Pound is a USA Boxing gym and our young boxers fight, with coaches in the corner and the same preparation any adult amateur would get.
That is a door, not a direction. The overwhelming majority of the kids class never puts on a competition singlet, and the programme is built for them first.
If your child turns out to want it, the pathway is here and it is properly supervised.
Practical
What parents ask first.
How old does my child need to be?
The kids class runs for ages five to twelve. Older teenagers usually train in the adult classes, and we will help you work out which room is the right fit.
Will my child get hit?
Not in the kids programme unless you and your child have both specifically chosen to go down the competition route, and even then it is supervised, matched and geared up. Ordinary classes are bags, pads, technique and conditioning.
What do they need to bring?
Athletic shoes, water and clothes they can move in. Gloves and hand wraps are needed for class — we stock them at the gym if you do not have any yet.
Does my child need to be fit already?
No. Every drill is scaled to the child in front of us. Plenty arrive having done no sport at all.
What paperwork do I need?
Three forms, all on this site, all signed by a parent or guardian: the liability waiver, the fitness questionnaire and the USA Boxing hold harmless waiver. Fill them in before the first class.
Their first class is free too
Bring them in and watch the first hour.
Kids class runs at 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Book a free trial and see how they take to it.

Personal Training
One on one with a coach, built entirely around what you are trying to do.

One to one
The whole hour, and none of it shared.
Group classes are the backbone of this gym and most people never need anything else. Personal training is for when you want the programme bent around you specifically — a target date, an injury to work around, a technical hole to close, or a first amateur bout to prepare for.
Sessions are booked directly with Antonio. Tell him what you are chasing and what your week looks like, and he will tell you honestly whether personal training is the right call or whether the group class already covers it.
What we build
Four reasons people book it.
A hard deadline
A wedding, a reunion, a medical target, a date on the calendar. Concentrated work with someone tracking it week to week.
Technique
You have been in class a while and something is not clicking. An hour of undivided attention fixes what six group sessions will not.
Competition prep
Amateur bouts, sparring preparation, weight management and corner work from a USA Boxing coach who has done it.
Coming back from a layoff
Injury, illness, a long time away, or a body that has changed. Rebuilt carefully, at a pace that does not put you straight back where you started.

Also available
Private events and fundraisers.
The gym hosts private events — team days, birthday parties, corporate groups who want an hour of something they will remember. Email Antonio and tell him the group size and what you have in mind.
We also make the space available for charity fundraisers when the calendar allows. If you are organising something for a cause, ask.
Online fitness coaching is available as well for people who cannot get to Rayford Road as often as they would like.
Start here either way
Take the free class first.
Even if personal training is what you are after, come to a group class first. It costs nothing, it tells the coach far more about you than a phone call can, and it makes the first paid session count.
Book it
Tell us what you are training for.
Send the details through and Antonio will come back to you with a plan and a price.

Real Boxing Amazing Fitness
A professional boxing gym for people who have never thrown a punch. We have helped hundreds of them lose the weight for good — and taught them to fight while we were at it.
What we do
You have tried everything except this.
Most people who walk through our door have never thrown a punch. They are not fighters. They are people who are tired of starting over every January, tired of apps and articles that all say something different, and tired of workouts that stopped working months ago.
So we teach them to box. Properly. Boxing is one of the most demanding sports there is, and that is exactly why it works — an hour on the bags burns like nothing in a commercial gym, and unlike a treadmill, it holds your attention the entire time.
The weight comes off. The conditioning follows. And somewhere in the middle of it you realise you have learned an actual skill, one that would serve you if you ever needed it.
Three ways to train
Pick your lane.
Real boxing. Amazing fitness.
Hundreds of people, all of them beginners once.
Nobody on that row of bags could box when they started. Some came for the weight. Some came because their doctor said something. Some just wanted one hour a day that belonged to them. They all got in the same line and learned the same jab.

The boxer’s body
Lean, fast, and built to actually do something.
A boxer’s body is the honest kind of fit. Strength, speed, flexibility and endurance all in balance, because a fighter cannot afford to be good at one and useless at the rest.
You do not need specialist equipment or a background in sport to build it. You need the basics, done properly, over and over: rope, footwork, bag work, mitts, conditioning. Nothing glamorous. You have probably done half of it before. The difference is that here it is programmed, coached, and it never stops progressing.
We stick to the basics and we do the basics well. Just like boxing.
What you get
What three months here actually looks like.
- A coach on the floor, every class Not a screen, not a playlist. A professional trainer running the room, correcting your guard, and keeping you honest on the last round when you would rather stop.
- A different workout every day You will not plateau and you will not get bored. The programme changes daily so your body never gets comfortable and neither does your attention.
- Scaled to whatever shape you are in Same class, same coach, adjusted for you. We have members who competed and members who had not exercised in a decade, working the same round.
- Self-defence you did not have to pay extra for Learn to fight and get in the condition to do it. That part comes free with the boxing, whether or not you ever intend to use it.
- Cardio, strength and conditioning in one hour Aerobic and anaerobic work, muscular endurance, agility and coordination. The bread and butter of a fighter’s routine, which happens to be the fastest way to reshape a body.
- A room full of people doing the same hard thing The atmosphere is the part nobody expects and everybody stays for. It is very difficult to quit in a room where nobody else is quitting.
